Vegetable Gardening Workshop Series
A two part workshop series to help you achieve a bountiful harvest of fresh vegetables in your home garden.
Have you ever wanted to grow your own vegetables, but just don’t know where to get started?
The Yamhill County Master Gardeners Association can help. The Vigorous Veggies Workshop Series includes planning, planting and maintaining your vegetable garden to grow healthy plants and enjoy the maximum harvest of fresh vegetables. The 2-part series will be held in both McMinnville and Newberg.
In Workshop 1 Master Gardener Educators will cover the essentials of vegetable gardening with a focus on site selection, soil preparation, garden planning and seeding/transplanting. Workshop 2 will cover growing healthy plants with a focus on watering, fertilizer, controlling weeds and common insects and pests. The McMinnville Workshop series will be held at the McMinnville Community Garden. The Newberg Workshop series will be held at the St. Micheals Episcopal Church Community Garden. A discussion/demonstration format will be used.
