Beginning Vegetable Gardening Course
Program Overview
- Covers basics of low-cost vegetable gardening
- 5 hour course divided into 5 weekly online sessions.
- Offered for free via Zoom. Access to the internet is required.
- Open to adults and teenagers
- Taught by trained volunteer Master Gardener Educators
- A course booklet will be provided
- Master Gardener mentors will provide additional support for class attendees during the classes and throughout the gardening season.
Course topics
- Garden site and soil development, Garden planning, Planting, Container Gardening, Caring for your garden, Harvesting and using garden bounty.
Raised Beds
Upon class completion, students who qualify may apply for a free raised bed or containers for home installation and use. These are provided by the Yamhill County Master Gardeners with generous funding from the Yamhill Community Care Organization (YCCO).
Registration
By registering, the first 12 will be enrolled in the January class. Additional registrants will be placed on a wait list for the March-April classes. After registering you will receive additional information about the course including the course booklet and Zoom instructions.
